Good morning.

Hope you are having a great week so far. Today I've got my rescheduled appointment at the hospital to have a nerve conduction test - I had to cancel due to the snow 2 weeks ago and then this afternoon we have a meeting at Jack's school to get information about his GCSE options for next year. It's so hard for them to make decisions that could have an impact on their future at this age as he has no idea what he wants to do - other than play on his X-Box - as with many other teenage boys I'm sure that he would get an A* if that was an option lol!!!

I'm a Gem - A Pink Gem!!!

I thought it would be a great opportunity to get a head start on some Christmas makes:

Here's what I did:

Card base - die cut using smallest of Grand Nesties Large Scalloped Circle 

Then using smallest of Grand Nesties plain Circle I die cut another piece of white linen cardstock and embossed it using M-Bossablilities 'Whimsy' and lightly inked with Faded Jeans Distress Ink

I also die cut Spellbinders Snowflake Pendant - available here using white linen cardstock and inked with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

Topped with the new Christmas Circle Sentiments Set 2 - available here

A bit of ribbon and some silver fibres with a snowflake charm to finish off.

Glitz and Glam at An Oldie But Goodie

Good morning.

Hope you are all keeping well and those not I wish well soon.

We had a little light dusting of snow overnight and I hope that's all we get today as Jack is at school and John is working in Birmingham today - hope neither get snowed out!!!

It's very quiet in my house today as my scrummilicious Lola Arizona has now gone home :o(

I guess the only positive to take from that is I can get back into my little crafty haven and have a good play :o)

A Money Box for Oliver

Good morning.

How are you all doing with the snow - we had about 6 inches or more yesterday but lucky no more so far today!!

Jack was REALLY happy to have a snow day and set off to sledge and have a snowball fight but not so happy when I shouted him back in to change out of his new chinos he got at Christmas!!!!! Boys just don't think do they lol!!!

So yesterday I shared a money box I decorated for my scrummilicious Lola Arizona and today I would like to share the one I decorated for my squidgilicious Oliver :o)

Here's what I did with this one:

Painted it with Gesso and then a coat of pearlescent blue acrylic paint.

Then I dabbed some white Stazon onto a Creative Expressions mask 'Retro Cirles' and pressed it onto the painted money box.

I also painted the large MDF letter and covered it with a piece of co-ordinating Design Paper - now some may think - just like I did that the letter is skew whiff  - but I checked with the MDF man and he said it  wasn't - but I'm still not too sure lol!!!

A die cut star, some metallic cord and a button to finish it off.

A Money Box for Lola Arizona

Good morning. Well the white stuff has finally arrived (and is still coming down as I write this post) and Jack has got his wish for a 'snow day' as school is closed :o) 

John re-arranged his diary at work and is working from home today so all are safe and warm :o)

Hope you are keeping safe and warm too.

Today I have a non-DT project to share with you.

When I was at the NEC in November I bought a couple of MDF money boxes and some MDF alphas to decorate for my scrummilicious Lola and squidgilicious Oliver.

Here's Lola's:

And here's what I did:

I started with painting the whole money box with some Gesso and then painted it with some pink acrylic paint.

When that was dry I added some Dreamweaver Embossing Paste through a Creative Expressions mask 'Delicate'

When that was dry I then rubbed a metallic wax paste all over.

I painted and then covered the letter with some co-ordinating DP and then rubbed some of the wax around the edges.

Maybe it could be used to save her pennies for her future 'crafty stash' as it seems she is a crafter in the making:
